Mah, devo dire che non mi e' chiara l'utilita' di un anello di inversione nel caso di stazioni ferroviarie oggi.
Usare materiale non reversibile? Velocizzare l'inversione?

Velocizzare inversione e ridurre a zero le interferenze tra itinerari. Però in ferrovie e metropolitane moderne con lo sviluppo di sistemi ATO i tempi di inversione si possono sostanzialemte azzerrare quindi mi risulta difficile pensare ad una metropolitana nuova in cui ci sia bisogno di farlo...

Dai non mi pare ci siano ferrovie con frequenze tali da renderlo necessario ;)

Suppongo in tal caso ci si riferisca alle grandi stazioni di testa delle principali citta', e non credo che la trasformazione sia possibile, a meno di trasferire traffico su altre stazioni esistenti (p.es. Torino PN->Torino PS, Firenze SMN -> Rifredi o Campo di Marte, Termini -> Tiburtina) o rifare le cose ex novo che vuol dire nuove linee e nuove stazioni ossia al tempo del mai (Milano !!!). Non conosco a sufficienza Napoli o la rete ferroviaria siciliana. Per Venezia SL vs Mestre probabilmente meglio lasciare tutto come sta (i turisti vogliono andare a Venezia non a Mestre, con buona pace dei mestrini)
